Shrimp Feast

Shrimp (or are they prawns?) are a classic subject in this style of painting, though I find them to be a somewhat comical subject. Their exoskeletons and bug eyes provide a lot of visual interest.

We practiced (struggled with) shrimp in class for quite awhile, though I never created an actual composition. Still, I rather like the red and black combination on my practice sheet.
