Seeking Inspiration

There’s no greater compliment than imitation, right? I don’t think I’m the only painter who gets some of her best inspiration from the work of other artists. Especially now, when person-to-person contact is restricted and classes are only online, seeing what others on some of the Facebook pages I follow are up to can be a very useful nudge to try a new subject or to revisit and improve on an oldie.

I never thought corn on the cob could be interesting until I saw someone else’s black and white painting. I couldn’t wait to get up to my studio and give it a try! The grasshopper seems to have a guilty look on his face: what, me eat your yummy corn?!
